First English edition 1688 Lacking the engraved frontispiece to first part, title in red and black and 35 plates in the two parts. Other than the engraved additional title page the work is complete, including 'Measures of the Earth' with separate title, 10 text leaves with marginal annotations in ink generally a single word in contemporary hand, a few with accompanying underlining. Last third intermittently damp stained to upper margin affecting about 13 plates, a few minor short tears to page margins, marginal toning. Solidly and attractively bound in modern half calf over marbled boards.
