First Edition 1697, 2 parts in one volume. Part 1 lacking some text and plates (see below for full details). Part 1 is generally in excellent condition, several owner's names inked to title, pastedown with later collation notes confirming current collation. The 111 plates present include the unnumbered plate at A2, and 110 of the 133 numbered plates. Dampstaining to upper fore-edge and inner margin impacting first 36 leaves. Part 2 is complete the text leaves Very Good, the plates, all bound at the rear, are Good only. all are numbered in pencil by hand and are damp stained, two with marginal loss (outside plate), all are creased, plate 3 has a black stain within the plate. Bound in contemporary calf Folio 375 x 240 mm. Part 1 L'Art des Armees Navales in not a complete copy, lacking 23 leaves of text and 23 plates, Part 2 is complete The full collation is [12], 424pp.; [12], 172, [4] engraved vignettes on both titles, 122 plates (111 + 11). The missing text leaves are also all from Part 1.
